BOGUS BASIN READY TO CELEBRATE FINAL WEEKEND

BOISE, Idaho – Bogus Basin is preparing to bid farewell to the 2023/24 winter season and celebrate with the community. This weekend, the non-profit concludes its 81st winter with festivities in store, including free music, a chance to win a historic Bitterroot chairlift chair, the pond skim, a shot-ski clinic, and more.

Warm temperatures are in the weekend forecast, providing the perfect spring backdrop for skiers and non-skiers alike to enjoy the base area celebration. All 2023/24 season pass types, including Midweek, Twilight, Nordic and Night, will be valid all weekend. Day tickets will be available for purchase online and at the Mountain TIcket Office.

BOGUS BASIN CLOSING WEEKEND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Saturday, April 20th:


8:30am

Pond Skim registration opens to the first 150 participants who sign up in person on the 3rd floor, JR Simplot Lodge – participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian present


9:00 am – 4:30pm

Lifts Operate (Coach and Bitterroot closed for the season)


11:00am – 2:00 pm

Shot-Ski Clinic, hosted by Bogus Basin’s Sustainability & Environmental Education team


11:00am – 2:00pm

Raffle to win one of two historic Bitterroot chairlift chairs. Tickets are $20/cash only; limit two tickets per person; need not be present to win


12:00 – 3:00pm

Deejay in the base area, along with other activities including Snow Volleyball and a Snow Bar

Free photo booth, Simplot Lodge Upper Patio

Sunday, April 21st:

High Pine Whiskey Yell, a popular local bluegrass band, plays in the base area

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; eleven lifts and three people-mover carpets; an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Environmental education and community outreach programs serve over 20,000 individuals annually, primarily youth. Summer activities include the Glade Runner, a 4,251 foot mountain coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
