June 22, 2022 (BOISE, ID)– With seven-day summer operations in full swing, Bogus Basin has announced a full calendar of summer events. The non-profit recreation area will offer free live music and yoga throughout the summer, along with new offerings including expanded mountain biking trails and a Weekend Nature Program.
The non-profit recreation area continues to expand The Basin Gravity Park, a regionally renowned mountain bike destination, adding 4.5 miles of new biking trails built last summer and fall, including:
-New to This, a 2.14 beginning trail that features playful, nonthreatening berms geared for riders new to the sport while appealing to mountain bikers of all skill levels.
-Around the Mountain, the top mountain bike trail in the state as ranked by MTBproject.com– has the first of several planned sections opening this summer. This includes Dirty Bob’s, a section of trail with a rating of more difficult (blue square). Sunday Stroll is a three-quarter mile trail described as down country, and provides cross-country riders a trail option that introduces them to bike-park-style riding in an easy-to-comprehend manner. Bogus Basin also introduces them to bike-park-style riding in an easy-to-comprehend manner. Bogus Basin also introduced a new technical downhill trail, Loam Star Runner, to The Basin Gravity Park.
Free summer community events and activities at Bogus Basin include:
-Music on the Mountain, a free concert series featuring live music from multiple bands. Simplot Base Area Stage, 6/25, 7/23, 8/6, 8/20, and 9/3; 2:00pm-6:00pm.
-Music on the Patio, Saturdays and Sundays, 6/26-9/5, from 2:00-5:00pm (Monday, 9/5, 12:00-3:00pm), Simplot Lodge ICCU Plaza.
-Yoga on the Mountain, Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00am-11:00am; Thursdays, 6:30-7:30pm, Simplot Lodge Base Area Lawn.

Bogus Basin’s educational outreach programming also continues to grow. “We have expanded our Weekend Nature Program for this summer. We are excited to provide a variety of engaging new ways to learn about the flora and fauna at Bogus Basin,” said General Manager, Brad Wilson. “Dedicated staff will be leading programs throughout the summer with opportunities for all ages and abilities.”
Bogus Basin Weekend Nature Programs:
-Drop-Off Youth Nature Hour (10:00-11:00am; ages 5-10; Free): Youth Nature Hour occurs at the same time as Yoga on the Mountain. Parents can drop off their children to spend an engaging hour with nature guides playing nature bingo, creating nature art, and other activities while their parents enjoy a free yoga session on the lawn.
-Intro to Bogus– Scenic Nature Tour (11:30am-12:45pm; ages 5+; $20 registration, includes lift ticket): Participants ride the Deer Point chairlift and take a short walk where they learn about Bogus Basin, the landscapes, and the plants & animals that call it home.
-Guided Nature Hike (2:00pm-4:00/4:30pm; ages 8+; $25 registration, includes lift ticket): Learn about the flora, fauna, ecology, geology, and more. Hikes include a chairlift ride with a foot descent back to the base area. Participants will hike between 2 to 3.5 miles.
Seven-day-a-week operations continue at Bogus Basin through August 21, followed by weekend operations scheduled through October 2. Hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm with extended evening bike park operations until 8:00pm on Thursdays through August 21. Offerings include The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, Morning Star Chairlift, Deer Point Chairlift (weekends only), summer tubing, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, retail/bike rentals, full food and beverage service at Double R Ranch BBQ Smokehouse, gem panning, and The Basin Gravity Park. Free access is available from dawn to dusk to a broad network of hiking and biking cross-country trails.

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; eleven lifts and three people-mover carpets; an 800-foot tubing hill.
