December 28, 2021 (BOISE, ID)– Bogus Basin announced today that the New Year’s Day Torchlight Parade, Fireworks Show, and other special activities planned at the area on Saturday, January 1st, have been canceled.
The decision was made due to the combination of extra cold forecasted temperatures and staffing challenges at the area. “We truly regret having to make the decision to cancel this fun tradition. This event typically draws a large non-skiing and snowboarding crowd who may be unprepared to spend time outside in the extreme cold,” said Susan Saad, Director of Community & Customer Relations. Saturday evening, temperatures at the area are expected to dip well into the single digits.
Regular operations at Bogus Basin are unaffected by this cancellation. The lifts are scheduled to operate from 9:00am to 10:00pm on Saturday. For additional information about Bogus Basin operating hours, visit www.bogusbasin.org.
