February 27, 2015 (BOISE, ID)– Alan Moore, President and General Manager of Bogus Basin Mountain Recreational Area, has announced his retirement. Moore was hired as Vice President of Finance in 2001, and promoted to his current position in 2011.
As General Manager, Moore streamlined operations and guided the organization through consecutive years of challenging snow conditions. He focused on making the nonprofit community mountain accessible and affordable for as many kids as possible. Through programs and partnerships with schools, businesses, hospitals, and other nonprofits, thousands of Treasure Valley students from all backgrounds participate in programs and recreational activities that combine learning with fun.
Under Moore’s leadership, summer programs and activities on the mountain increased, including construction of the St. Luke’s Don Scott Memorial Amphitheater in 2014, and mountain biking trails.

Bogus Basin is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; seven lifts and two people-mover carpets; and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails.
