December 27, 2017 (BOISE, ID)– Bogus Basin announced it will celebrate New Year’s Day on the mountain with a professional fireworks show. The nonprofit recreation area extends an invitation to the community for an early evening fireworks show on Monday, January 1st at 6:30pm.
“The feedback from last year’s fireworks show on the mountain was incredible,” said Susan Saad, Director of Community Relations. “We’re excited to make this a fun, family-friendly annual tradition.” The fireworks will be visible from the Simplot Lodge Base Area, and the general public is invited. There is no cost to watch the show.
Bogus Basin will extend hours of operation for the Deerpoint Chairlift (#1) and the Morning Star Chairlift (#2) on January 1st until 6:00pm. Additionally, the Pepsi Goldrush Tubing Hill will offer extended hours, reservations available at: www.bogusbasin.org. The Simplot Lodge will remain open for food and beverage service until after the event.
Bogus Basin operating hours on January 1st are 9:00am to 4:30pm, with the exception of chairlifts listed above, and the tubing hill. The Glade Runner mountain coaster opens at 10:00am.
Bogus Basin is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; seven lifts and two people-moving carpets; and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Summer activities include mountain biking, amphitheater events, disc golf, private events, and hiking.
