July 3, 2017 (BOISE, ID)– Bogus Basin will be open throughout the 4th of July week, offering an escape from the heat, a chance for kids of all ages to try out new summer “Fun Zone” activities, and access to a network of hiking and biking trails.
The nonprofit recreation area officially kicked off summer operations on Saturday, July 1st. More than 3,000 guests headed up the mountain to participate in a range of 75th Anniversary Summer Celebration events. “It is awesome that we are welcoming many first time visitors to the mountain,” said General Manager, Brad Wilson. “Our new summer activities are a huge hit, and everyone is pleasantly surprised to discover that the temperatures on the mountain are 15-20 degrees cooler than in the valley.”
The Bogus Basin crew went to work immediately following the winter season on a range of projects in and around the base area that include: the installation of a summer tubing hill, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, gem panning station, bike skills park, and a new mountain bike flow trail. Construction on a 12,000 square foot outdoor seating plaza, an expansive lawn, lodge restroom remodel, and highly anticipated Mountain Coaster will be complete later this summer.
