About Mike Francis
Mike’s first time on skis was at Bogus Basin when he was six years old. He has been a season pass holder ever since, except while he attended the University of Washington. There, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduation, he worked for Boeing but left to pursue his dream of making awesome beer.
Mike graduated from the Siebel Institute of Technology and World Brewing Academy in Chicago. He returned to Boise and founded Payette Brewing Company in 2011 in a small location in Garden City. He grew the brewery into the go-to place to have a beer in Boise and distributes canned beer to six states. Payette has been voted “Best Brewery” in Boise every year since 2012.
Mike wanted to be on the Bogus Basin board because Bogus has been a huge part of his life and he wants to ensure his daughters have the same opportunity. In Mike’s words, “The only thing I love more than skiing is my family.”
