August 30, 2017 (BOISE, ID)– This Saturday, September 2nd, marks the final Music on the Mountain at Bogus Basin for the summer. The event, sponsored by 10 Barrel Brewing Co., will feature live music throughout the afternoon in the base area outside JR Simplot Lodge. Fun Zone activities, including summer tubing, bungee trampoline, gem panning, and a climbing wall, will operate from 11:00am to 7:00pm.
Visitors to the nonprofit recreation area will be treated to a pleasant surprised: Construction of a 12,000 square foot plaza and newly landscaped base area is complete. The additions are part of a $4.3 million summer enhancement project that began in mid-June.
Additional summer improvements will include an outdoor smokehouse BBQ on the plaza and the highly anticipated Mountain Coaster, which is scheduled to open later this fall. All of the developments are part of a 10 year master plan intended to help assure the long-term sustainability of the area.
The Deerpoint Chair (#1) will operate for scenic rides and mountain bike transport from 11:00am-7:00pm, providing access to mountain views and Bogus Basin’s expansive trail system. Cost for an all-day ticket is $30, which includes the bike shuttle. Single ride chairlift tickets cost $15. All ages are welcome. The Simplot Lodge will be open for full food & beverage service from 11:00am-7:00pm.
