January 4, 2021 (BOISE, ID)– The New Year has delivered good news to local skiers and riders. Bogus Basin has received nearly two feet of snow during the recent storm activity, and more is on the way. The base snow depth at the area is now 47″; plenty deep for recreationalists to find fun powder stashes both on and off the runs.
“This is exactly what we needed to build up our base after the holidays and settle into the heart of the season,” said General Manager, Brad Wilson.
The area is carefully navigating the 2020-21 season amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and has made significant operational adjustments to assure guest and staff safety. One change in particular– extending night skiing operations by one hour, available at 3:00pm instead of 4:00pm– has proven to be a surprisingly effective way to increase visits during underutilized evening hours.
Bogus Basin has also opened several new food and beverage outlets, including: Brrr-ito, a Mexican food truck outside Pioneer Lodge; The Hot Dogger; and Jo Jo Beans, an espresso bar in the base level of Simplot Lodge, featuring fresh, local pastries.

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; eleven lifts and three people-mover carpets; an 800-foot tubing hill.
