Community Volunteer Day | National Public Lands Day-Restoration Project
What
Help us end the season with some good vibes and join Bogus Basin’s Stewardship Team and our partners at the Boise National Forest for a planting project to kick off our Public Lands Day Celebration! Using seedlings grown from seeds collected on our mountain, we will be planting native grasses and wildflowers on disturbed soils near the new coach run helping us to decrease erosion, increase the resiliency of our landscape, and sequester carbon. Absolutely no experience is necessary and we encourage you to bring the whole family (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). Be sure to have water, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes, and gloves (we have extra gloves if you need some). Planting tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Afterwards, stick around for the National Public Lands Day Party which will feature informational booths from land management agencies and conservation non-profits, raffle prizes, fun nature-based activities, and free guided nature hikes in addition to our regular food, beverage, and mountain activities. Volunteers will receive a FREE t-shirt courtesy of our friends at the Bureau of Land Management and the National Environmental Education Foundation.

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; eleven lifts and three people-mover carpets; an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Environmental education and community outreach programs serve over 20,000 individuals annually, primarily youth. Summer activities include the Glade Runner, a 4,251 foot mountain coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
