Snowmaking Success: Bogus Basin To Expand Weekend Operations
The non-profit’s investment in snowmaking technology allowed it to expand terrain while awaiting natural snowfall
BOISE, Idaho (December 2, 2023) – Bogus Basin announced plans to reopen for the December 2-3rd weekend, with operations expanding to include the Deer Point Express and Morning Star Express chairlifts for access to Showcase, Upper Ridge, Lower Ridge, Stewart’s Bowl and Silver Queen Runs. Area officials credit snowmaking for the early season openings.
Bogus Basin Mountain Ops Crews have blown approximately 10 million gallons of machine-made snow onto the slopes since October 29th. The area launched its 2023-24 Winter Season on Saturday, November 18th, offering free access to The Explorer Terrain Park in the 2nd Annual Lowtide Bogus Event.
Storm activity is forecasted to bring as much as 28” of snow to Bogus Basin over the weekend. Winter recreation enthusiasts are encouraged to visit bogusbasin.org and the area’s social media channels for updates.
